Seldom it’s difficult to come up with a mission statement or a tagline. But to my amazement, the latter came to Oskar with ease (he practically dreamt it!). The LifeViewers tagline immediately resonated with me on multiple levels and as we started using it more frequently, it became apparent it’s worth telling the world what we truly mean by it.k
If you have already had a look around our website, it is likely that you already know that it goes like this: “…because life is worth living”. And if you hadn’t, well, that only adds to the need to explain its full meaning.
How did the LifeViewers tagline come about
Little introduction
The first thing you need to know is that we (LifeViewers) are on a mission to diversify our everyday lives and get to experience a large variety of various life experiences. We love to be spontaneous and going on adventures which are within or just outside our limits.
Trying out new things is so much fun! Well, not always right then and there, because you do get to embarrass yourself, get surprised unexpectedly, receive unpleasant feedback or even hurt yourself sometimes. But it sure is worth it in the end, right?
Our very first video was published on Monday 31st October. So many things changed between the moment we decided to create our project {link} and we hit the publish button on YouTube, but we have learnt so very much.
Inspiring words can sometimes do more harm than good
It’s often that we hear inspiring words, such as “live today as if it is was your last day” or “it always seems impossible until it’s done”. When we do hear (or read) these words, we usually relate them to something bigger than ourselves or extremely adventurous. Think travelling the world, skydiving or anything that excites your heart beyond belief.
In fact, even our own tagline can make us feel that way. It is easy to spend time daydreaming about these once in a lifetime events. And more often than we should, we live for Friday nights and holiday breaks, only to settle into the routine after the little adventure we had.
Start living in the future
We believe this thought process is flawed. Far too often we link inspiration to once in a lifetime events, and not nearly enough to improving our daily lives. It’s weird because we spend more time stuck in our routines than anything else. We tend to “collect” inspiration instead of making good use of it and actually doing something positive.
It’s challenging, but we try our best not to perceive life that way. We believe that there is a reward in finding everyday routines enjoyable. They can really improve your life quality more than a handful amazing events.
So, what we want to achieve for ourselves and hopefully, also inspire a few of you along the way is to attempt to break the routine by adding a bit of adventure to it. Your life begins where your everyday routine ends, right outside your comfort zone. So that is what we mean by “…because life is worth living”. And don’t worry, you don’t have to change your life drastically.
Taking small steps is better than standing still
If you think you can’t change anything because of your commitments, be it family, children, financial, job etc. – don’t worry about it and start small. How about taking a slightly different route home the next time you’re commuting? It’s possible you’ll see something that will inspire you or meet someone.
How about changing your favourite dine-out place or at least order a different dish instead of your usual? Maybe you’ll like it better or maybe you won’t. Maybe it won’t. Maybe it will be the worst you’ve ever had, but then you will have a great story. Exploring of this kind is great – you never know what you will find.
For some of you these things might sound quite natural, but for some, it might be almost alien. And that’s fine, because just like with anything else in this life – it’s a matter of habit.
What’s next for LifeViewers
We have big plans, but we are starting small! It’s our goal to get into a habit of exploring and colouring our lives with a multitude of experiences. And we believe that the best way to do this is by breaking our routines a little.
We will be going places and taking adventurous car journeys. We will also be looking at products we find interesting and exploring our hobbies – including cooking, DIY and even things we’ve never done before. And we’re hoping to record all that on camera and share it with you guys.
So, if you feel like you want to add a bit more adventure into your routine and make your life more diverse and fun, then come on in and join our community. We will be uploading a video every Monday on YouTube where we’re going to share our opinions and ideas show you our latest adventures because.. well, you know why … because life is worth living.
