Hello, dear readers, nice to have you here! Seems that we are finally starting to get back into the swing of things after our two week holiday. The sun sets much sooner, cosy clothes are leaving the far shelves of our wardrobes, and everything outdoors is in the shade of red, orange and dark green. Yes, autumn has definitely arrived in London.
But we are not ready to wave goodbye to summer yet. We would like to use this opportunity and invite you to subscribe to our very first travel vlog series from our awesome road trip to Italy and France. If this is news to you and you didn’t follow us on social media as we travelled, don’t worry as we will continue sharing our story on social media and our blog. So, back to the video series!
Travel vlog series for Italy and France on YouTube
There will be a total of 13 separate videos which we will publish throughout the course of the next few weeks. In them, you will see the highlights of our journey, condensed to about 15 minutes for each day, with little nuggets of our first impressions. It’s hard to narrow down a whole day in one video, but Oskar is working his editing magic and has been playing with some effects to show you more in less time. And me? Well, I’m working behind-the-scenes on the story for each day.
But, why should you subscribe?
We know how busy life can get so when we went on our journey, we aspired to capture as many interesting and beautiful shots as possible. We are still getting our heads around travel vlogging, but we love going on adventures and sharing them with you. The hope is that we can a) show you how we did it so you can do it better and b) inspire you to travel more and c) have something to look back to. This whole trip took us little time to plan – the hotels were by far the longest!
We travel not to escape life, but for life not to escape us.
Born and raised in Latvia, and now residing in London, we have an interesting point of view as well, so that should be entertaining! Here are some quick facts about our road trip and what the travel vlog series will entail:
- 2318-mile road trip in 13 days, staying the night in 10 different cities
- Mountains, lakes and coastal cities that left us in amazement
- Small cities, big cities and their unique characteristics
- The birth city of Ferrari and Lamborghini sports cars
- Landmarks, like the infamous cathedrals in Milan and Florence
- The culture on the road and on the streets in Italy and France
Going on such a big trip, we had some expectations. If you are keen, you can read about it in our road trip expectations with a full itinerary of our road trip (each city by day and what we planned to do).
So, is travel vlogging and blogging our next big thing?
We would like to think so. As we mentioned in our year in review blog, we will be putting our focus on writing and sharing our own experiences as well as tips for travel. Seeing new places is what Oskar and I love, and we definitely want to do more of that in the future.
During our road trip, we saw some pretty amazing places but also experienced some major disappointments (hello, Milan). We have about ten blog topics pencilled in, so we better get right to it and start writing! Our minor challenge right now is juggling all projects and getting into the habit of not only enjoying our adventures but sharing them.
What’s next?
Our next adventures include a short trip to Stonehenge (for real this time, no peeking at it for free) and visiting Oxford for the second time. There won’t be a video for these, but we may write a blog about them. We still haven’t set our plans for Christmas in stone, but it’s likely we will be spending it with our families, charging up for next year.
And well, right this moment, we are going to relax and go on a hunt for some luxury car spotting as we didn’t see almost any in France and Italy, much to our disappointment.
Let us know in the comments below if there’s a question you’d like to ask us about our road trip or travel vlog series – we would love to share!
