How to Plan Your Day to Have Time to Play

Plan your day effectively to have more time

Plan your day to have a better life

So you might think that LifeViewers are all about being adventurous, leading a joyful life and being a touch spontaneous. Well, you are absolutely right! When others ask us how we have the time to do it all, our advice is simple – plan your day!

As much as strive to make each day a bit different and do unusual things when we have the chance, we couldn’t do it without our secret weapon – planning.

You might think that planning is the exact opposite of fun and being spontaneous. Ironically, planning and scheduling is one of the most powerful ways of how you can lead a richer, fuller life.

By planning your day, month or even year, you get to know what is it that you really want to do. By having that knowledge spending quality time gets easier and our souls become happier, and that is vital for our well-being.

A goal without a plan is just a wish. – Antoine de Saint-Exupéry

We had to relearn how to plan our days

Both of us have loved to-do lists for years. We would always love to create a list for the day ahead or the task at hand, but we failed to have a similar approach when we spent time together. Instead, we were often adrift, spending much more time on deciding what we should do instead of doing it.

So, when we felt we didn’t spend enough time together, Oskar came up with a brilliant idea of having designated date nights every three weeks. After a year of getting into it and a car, we started scheduling our trips around the United Kingdom every third week. We also travel to Europe every half a year in addition to going back home to Latvia.

By planning more and wasting less time, we have much more time to be spontaneous. It’s pretty amazing, really – and all it took was a bit of planning and scheduling. Want to know more about how to effectively plan your day?
